The normal IT delivery in Kaseya is strongly focusing on invisibility. The services deliverd by Kaseya should not interfear, annoy or get in the users way. Windows in particular has enough pop-up questions as it is. Sometimes, however, you actually need to "get hold" of the user. By using interactive dialog boxes you can ask the user qestions before running any Agent Procedure. This is great when upgrading software, doing tasks that will affect the production and maybe reboot the machine all togehter.

Give it a try. The Agent Procedure is called "User Experience - Change Yes/No Buttons" and can be downloaded after this jump.

When you install the Kaseya agent on any Windows machine you end up with the Kaseya icon in the Windows start menu. To be honest, the icon in the "Start Menu, All Programs" folder is quite useless for the end user. The agent icon down in the system tray on the other hand is awesome! Not to confues anybody with that. You can remove the Kaseya folder all together with a Kaseya Agent Procedure after install, but even better:
You can remove the Kaseya Agent folder in the Windows start menu during the installation of the Kaseya agent. To do this, edit or create a new customized agent.
In step 3 you can add custom install switches. If you add the /J switch, the Kaseya agent installation will not be added in the start-menu.
Give it a try.

Ultrabooks is the new Netbooks!
CES 2012 gave us a redicilous flow of gadgets and new products. CES is mostly targeting the consumer market, but with BOYD (Bring Your Own Device) everything changes. Ultrabooks is the new Netbooks. Intel claims that there will be more than 75 Ultrabook models out this year alone! So, the next thing for IT-service providers is to manage laptops in new sexy clothing. No more boring bricks of gray plastic!
Speaking of Ultrabooks. Many of the models were running Windows 8. Different sources claim Microsoft is expected to release Windows 8 late fall 2012 and push agressively on upgrading older OS versions. Steve Ballmer noted this in the CES keynote. "Every Windows 7 PC will be ready to download Windows 8 on day one". Why not grab a copy and start testing? Better to be ready, the customers will get new Windows 8 Ultrabooks no matter whay you say.
Speaking of Ballmer. This was Microsofts last keynote on CES. After 13 years Microsoft decided to quit.
Critical Adobe Reader X update

Out of band ASP.NET patch and seven bulletins
Microsoft released their monthly batch of patches this tuesday, but most interesting was the out of band panic patch for ASP.NET between Christmas and New Years of 2011. Speaking of patching stuff. Internet Explore will get auto-updated beginning January 2012. "We will start in January for customers in Australia and Brazil who have turned on automatic updating via Windows Update."
Kaseya Live Connect update
Kaseya released a Live Connect patch to enhance the relay funtion when starting a remote control session. This is in beta right now.
